Reach for The Top
One of my favorite things about living in New York City is the amazing rooftop views that you cannot get anywhere else in the world. I am fortunate enough that one of my closest friends ever was able to shoot this look for me on her gorgeous rooftop. Black and white is my favorite combination and I added the dark green jacket on top to break up the look a little. Also wearing my mules here, which I cannot get enough of!
Another thing I really love about New York is how much opportunity there is to reach your greatest potential and the passion that people have here to achieve their dreams. Since taking the plunge and moving here from my hometown of Boston last Spring, I have literally evolved so much as a person and the future has never been brighter. I have come to realize what direction I truly want to start steering my life in and have discovered passions that I never imagined would be fueling me as much as they do. New York is one of those places that can make you realize this. The streets buzz with excitement and hope and joy, but also sadness and loneliness and defeat, but it is really up to you to take the bull by the horns and create the life you want.
While I know not every person has the chance to leave their hometown, really identifying what gets a fire burning inside of you is so important. Exposing yourself to new people and experiences can do that for you no matter where you are. New York has done this for me for sure and I can’t wait to share all of my experiences with you all and to continue to grow and develop this blog, which I LOVE doing! Where you are doesn’t define who you will be so stretch yourself to reach your highest potential and be grateful for where you are regardless of where you “think” you should be in life.
There are plenty of things about the city that I could complain about, but I try to remind myself everyday, while walking to work through midtown, to look up and bask at the amazing sky rises that envelop the city and give it the magic that so many people around the world want a piece of. Remind myself of the beauty of the city and how lucky I am to be living here, reaching for the top. xo
