My Experience Living in London for 1 Year
Last month marked my 1 year anniversary of moving to London!!! This year has seriously flown by and I can’t believe I am coming out the other side with a master’s degree, tons of new life long friends, and unreal travel experiences. If anyone is considering coming here to visit or do a long term course of study I cannot recommend it enough.
Apart from just how frickin beautiful this place is, London is also a place where you can really be your own person. Having lived in New York City, I can say that people there have preconceived notions of what it means to be and act like a New Yorker. There is a distinct identity attached to that city and the people there, but in London, I do not feel that this is the case. London is a city where you can be who ever the hell you want without any pressure to conform to a typical set of behaviors or attitudes and no one cares and its amazing! I love the sense of freedom to unapologetically be who you are here. There are so many neighborhoods in London with so many different types of people that you cannot pinpoint what it means to be a Londoner! This past year has been such an incredible life changing experience that I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to experience.
While this places is by no means perfect, London is and will probably always be my absolute favorite city in the world and I have completely fallen in love with this place.
Here are a few snaps from a recent touristy weekend I had in the city when a friend of mine was in town! xo
