London Calling

Hey Guys! I’ve been a little quiet on the posting front because I recently got back from an amazing trip to London! Every year, I try to travel as much as possible and this trip was my birthday gift to myself. I visited the city before about 4 years ago with my college and truly fell in love, which is why I decided to go back.

Although I had visited before, this time around felt so so different. I visited friends while I was there, but was alone for a good portion of the time (which i recommend to everyone at some point in life!) and I felt like I got to experience the real London. I  saw street art and visited vintage shops at Brick Lane, picked up a sweet scarf at Spitalfields Market, saw an amazing play called The Curious Incident of the Dog in The Night, ate mind-blowing macaroons at Laduree, saw Oxford Circus lit up at night, took a stroll along Little Venice, fake shopped at Harrods, ate a delicious meal at a proper pub, and was basically an expert wanderer of the city. People try and say that the UK is just like the US because they are both English speaking places, but I 100% disagree – not being surrounded by any Americans for the most part, it was so clear that this place was a foreign country. From the cars to the roads and the different foods and cultures, there were plenty of differences between the two countries and I even felt a little bit of culture shock even at some points. London is so vibrant, full of culture, and cool places to visit, there was still so much I didn’t get to do!

My trip was rather short, but I made sure to enjoy every second and I know that I will be back to this amazing city soon! I am usually the worst at taking pictures during trips, but wanted to share some of the few that I did take – hope you enjoy! xo
