Last night was Thanksgiving and it was the first time in my entire life that I did not celebrate it with my family in Boston. That being said it was still an amazing night and I got to have a fantastic “Friendsgiving” dinner with some amazing new people that I have met in London who have truly become my family here. We are all from opposite ends of the globe, but yet were able to come together and relate, laugh and bond with each other in amazing way. Being the American of the group, I organized this dinner which was the first thanksgiving my friends had ever experienced. We were able to reflect our time here in London so far and express our deep gratitude for being in one of the most beautiful city’s in the world. Thinking about what you are grateful for is one of the most beautiful things you can do for yourself and can instantly put you in a great mood. I am all about an attitude of gratitude in my daily life and believe you can always find a silver lining in all situations. Although sometimes the essence of Thanksgiving gets lost in the shopping and eating aspect, getting a chance to take a moment and really think about all the amazing things you have to be thankful for is priceless.
I had such a great time and enjoyed great food (which you will get a peek of below!). The restaurant was called The Avenue and it was NYC themed and had the most gorgeous decorations, that I sadly didn’t get any good shots of. Overall, it was a great night with great friends and I couldn’t have had a better Thanksgiving in my home away from home.
